Hautefort.
A pretty village in the Dordogne dominated by it's 12th Century Chateau, which is well worth a visit. The late Queen Mother stayed at the Chateau regularly.
The chateau's interior was very badly damaged by fire in the 1980s, but it is now fully restored and open to the public.
Lake Cocou - southwest of Hautefort, just off the D71, is a lovely place for a picnic at lunchtime, before going-on to Saint Robert.
