Domme.
A very pretty and wonderful example of a 'Bastide' (fortified town), situated at the top of a high cliff with spectacular views from its 'Belvedere', of the Dordogne river, its valley and some of the chateaux in the area. Domme is another of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' (The most beautiful villages in France) and it really is very pretty.
Built it in 1281 to defend the region against the English, the town changed hands many times during the 100-years war.
You can stroll down the narrow streets, admiring the old flower strewn houses, look at the view from the belvedere, have a lovely meal in one of the many restaurants or do a bit of shopping.
